Lionel 2056 Vintage O 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive w/2046W Tender VG

This is a Lionel 2056 Vintage O 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive W/ 2046W Tender from 1952. This is a Korean War hybrid using a Berkshire boiler casting on a Hudson wheel arrangement. Features include a 3-position E-unit, an operating smoke unit and an operating headlight. A 2046W tender is included and features die cast trucks, operating rear knuckle coupler, whistle, and metal wheels.

Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. Both the locomotive and tender show spots of nicks, scratches, and surface rust. Additionally, bodies of both items have moderate spots of paint wear, chips, and some more noticeable paint chips on the sides. This item has been out on display previously and its overall appearance could be significantly improved with a thorough dusting or a light wipe down. When tested, the locomotive runs well and light functions. Whistle on the tender however sounds raspy. The instruction manuals and original boxes are not included with these items.
