Here is a Lionel 225E Vintage O 2-6-2 Die-Cast Steam Locomotive w/ 2235W Tender. This locomotive features die-cast metal sprung trucks, metal wheels and axles, operating headlight, and a motor. The Tender features die cast construction, metal stamped journals, [1] box coupler, and metal wheels and axles.
Brought onto the scene in the late 19th century and continuing use into the early 20th century, the 2-6-2 was a durable little model with some even surviving through the first World War seeing continued use in smaller capacities. These models were used for a variety of purposes from hauling coal loads to pulling smaller passenger cars. The North American model soon became known as the "Prairie" model and would quickly become a favorite in rail-yards around the world!
