This is a Lionel 494 Vintage O Rotating Tinplate Beacon Tower--Red from 1954-66. This is the painted red version of the tower. The 494 beacon tower is a great improvement over the previous 394. The 494 has the reliable vibrator motor that turns the beacon. The 394 relied on the heat of the bulb to rotate the beacon. It measures 12 inches tall x 5 inches long x 5 inches wide.
