Lionel 54 Vintage O Postwar Ballast Tamper Car VG

This is a Lionel 54 Vintage O Postwar Ballast Tamper Car. This neat motorized unit simulates the tamping down of ballast rock along the track. The small pile drivers move up and down, and the engine also slows down to half speed when the tamping action is activated. The tampers are controlled by activators clipped to the track. It features a pullmor motor, durable painted body, die-cast frame, engineer figure, operating tampers, an ornamental horn, flexible antenna on the rear, red tampers housed in a gray structure on the front, blue man in the cab, and a single non-operating coupler on the rear. This unit only travels forward and operates in two speeds.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. This item shows scratches, scrapes, and paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. This item shows rust on the chassis and platform. The rails are bent and there is a sticker on the chassis. This item did not work when tested so its being sold as is. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included.
