Lionel 6-17691 O Gauge Union Pacific CA-4 Illuminated Caboose #25103 EX/Box
This is a Lionel 6-17691 Union Pacific CA-4 Illuminated Caboose, #25103. Between 1942 and 1975, 750 steel cabooses were delivered to the Union Pacific. Easily identified by a tall cupola centered on the roof, these Union Pacific CA-class cabooses are one of the most recognizable caboose types in North America. The CA-4 class, built at Pullman Standard’s Michigan City plant in 1944, featured riveted body panels, Murphy roof panels, a small lavatory window, and Q-style trucks when first delivered. The general design and basic features of the unique high-cupola caboose of Union Pacific, however, remained unchanged for over 30 years. This car features Die-cast metal sprung trucks for improved tracking, especially through switches, Operating couplers uncouple cars, automatically with a remote-control or uncoupling track section, Scale proportions, Super-detailed with many separately-applied metal parts, Prototypical paint schemes, Minimum Curve: O-31 (Except where noted), Perfectly sized to match Lionel Standard O Locomotives, All-new tooling, New die-cast metal sprung Q-type trucks, Hidden uncoupling tabs, Separately applied metal underframe details, Smoke unit with ON/OFF control, Train crew figures, Detailed and painted interior, Opening doors, Exterior end lights, the minimum diameter is O-31 and it is 10 inches long.
