The powerful Alaska 0-6-0 switcher moves along the snowy route from Anchorage to Seward, hauling its workload more than 100 miles along the frosty rails. This rugged, icebound consist includes a dockside switcher, flatcar with wheel and cargo load, 3-dome tankcar, crane car, and work caboose. Included is a 0-6-0 dockside steam locomotive, flatcar with load, 3-dome tankcar, crane car, caboose with lighted interior. The locomotive features Transformer controlled forward, neutral, and reverse operation, an electronic steam whistle, directional lighting, including operating headlight and operating back-up light, front and rear operating couplers, a powerful maintenance-free motor with momentum flywheel, traction tires, a puffing smoke unit, a die-cast metal body and frame, engineer and fireman figures. The rolling stock features operating couplers, pallet and wheel load on flatcar, rotating cab and operating boom and hook on crane car, interior illumination in caboose and individually boxed.

Upon its introduction during the 19th century, the 0-6-0 would quickly become one of the most widely used models in many rail-yards due to its versatility becoming a favored unit over its 0-4-0 and 0-8-0 counterparts. With their ability to operate on both heavy and light railways, the 0-6-0 would become a staple in rail-yards all over the world!
