Lionel 6446-25 Vintage O Norfolk & Western Blue Covered 4-Bay Hopper #644625 VG

This is a Rare Lionel 6446-25 Norfolk and Western Blue Covered 4-Bay Hopper from 1955-57. The 6446 Covered Quad hopper was first produced in 1954. It remained in the Lionel family until 1957. During that time it did experience some minor changes. After 1957, it made a brief appearance in 1963, but only lasted for that one year. The 6446 is not an easy item to find in collectable condition. At the same time, general interest in hoppers is minimal. Therefore, this is one of the few scenarios where a hard to find item can be purchased at a reasonable price. This hopper features die-cast metal trucks, die-cast metal operating knuckle couplers, metal wheels and axles.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. This item shows scratches, scrapes, and paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. This item shows rust on the axles and screws. This item has been out on display previously and its overall appearance could be significantly improved with a thorough dusting or a light wipe down. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included.
