Lionel 6464-500 Timken Boxcar - 1970 Special Orange VG

This is a Lionel 6464-500 Orange Timken Boxcar from 1970. This was a very limited car that was specailly ordered by Glen's Train Shop in Akron, Ohio. The 6464-500 Timken box car was one of only a select few 6464-style box cars having two independant production runs. The excellent graphics with a bright orange exterior plus realistic markings on this car continue to make it a favorite of collectors and operators. The 6464-500 Timken box car is not an easy car to acquire. It is part of the famous Lionel 6464 series and is unique in being the only car in the series decorated for a company instead of for an actual railroad. This boxcar features sliding doors, plastic trucks, operating knuckle couplers, metal wheels and axles. This is the 1970 version.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. This car shows scratches and paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. This car shows rust on the chassis and trucks. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included.
