This is an MTH 30-1169-0 4-6-4 Royal Hudson Steam Engine & Tender w/Loco Sound #2860. It features a precision flywheel equipped motor, operating headlight, operating smoke unit, die-cast metal sprung trucks, die-cast metal operating knuckle couplers, metal wheels and axles.
Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. A piece of the locomotive's front coupler is broken off. The locomotive has a traction tire partially slipping while some are missing and the remaining are heavily worn. The locomotive's paint texture is rough with some wiping stains visible throughout. A thick layer of dirt has settled onto the locomotive and tender. The locomotive and tender show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis.
