This is an MTH 30-4119-0 O Santa Fe RailKing 2-8-0 Steam Locomotive & Tender #1902. This is only the steam locomotive & tender from the set. The freight cars are not included. Locomotive and tender feature plastic and die cast body construction, plastic trucks, metal wheels, operating knuckle coupler, and a motor.
Introduced as a relative 'Late-comer" to the industry the 2-8-0 would quickly rise to popularity as a freight hauler the late 19th and early 20th century with its use spanning from the US to Europe. Hailed for its versatility during its run, the 2-8-0 would serve as a heavy freight hauler for various rail-ways before eventually seeing its use wind down starting in 1915. With a handful now in museums, there is still one model still operating in Pennsylvania today!
