Williams 5105 O BRASS B&O 2-8-2 Mikado Steam Loco and Tender #4500 EX/Box
Here is a Williams 5105 BRASS B&O 2-8-2 Mikado Steam Loco and Tender #4500. Both items feature factory painted brass construction, brass trucks, knuckle couplers, and metal wheels. The locomotive is powered.
Introduced at the turn of the 20th century, the 2-8-2 was an innovator breaking from the traditional manufacturing of locomotives, and featuring a larger firebox paving the way for greater speeds at a higher rate of power! Before we knew it, the 2-8-2 also known as the "Mikado" found itself in rail yards around the world from the United States to the Congo hauling freight from stop to stop. The Mikado would undergo a temporary name change after the Pearl Harbor bombing in 1941 shortly going by the McArthur, before eventually going back to the Mikado name after WW2.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. This item appears to have been run, and displays overall signs of light previous use. The traction tires are missing. There are nicks and scratches on the shell and chassis of this item. The wheels show signs of average run-time.
